Drainage Construction

Changes and improvements to the training grounds at hull F.C. (Cottingham), have now been successfully completed ready for the start of the 2008/2009 Premiership football season.

Work to build a new first team began immediately after winning promotion. Before installing the drainage system, comprising of gravel/sand bands connected to a grid iron of piped mains, the top (sword) was shaved off using a field topmaker (combinator). After deep cultivation and laser grading a smooth surface, we finally incorporated a rootzone growing medium and sowed a good quality sportsturf grass seed.

In addition to trenched drainage systems, we operate various Verti -drain and soil decompactor machines to aid the quick removal of surface water and provide aeration.
